Teesside Autodrome is located in Middlesborough in the UK and holds an annual round of the BUKC, which we make a weekend trip to. The race is a 24 hour endurance and we bring a team of 5 racers, a team manager and support crew. If you would like to help out on the trip or just come along for the experience, contact us by Facebook or E-Mail.
Teesside continues to be an amazing experience for anyone who's attended. The track itself features very fast sectors, uphill and downhill sections and a quadruple chicane to keep the driver awake! After practice the day before and qualifying that morning, the race begins at 1pm in a LeMans-style sprint to the karts. Drivers then have on average three 90-120 minute stints throughout the 24 hours, while helping with the pit stops and trying to catch some sleep in the tent in-between!
Driving in this race requires more than outright speed; you must consider that the kart needs to last 24 hours! Waiting a lap to watch the driver in front and make the perfect move can be much more effective here.
